2004.01.08	I won 3rd place  award for this month's XAS submission. Also created a Modern Gab fake while trying to do the hair tutorial like I did on Lucy a couple of months back. The result is not as good as the Lucy hair. It looks like I need to practice the hair tutorial some more. On a side note, Happy New Year everyone!

2003.12.18	Joxer wall and the new 2004 calendar page. This year you will see the work of the AMBX-H group. They are all very talented artists and you should check out their web pages. If they do not have a web page, I have tried to add a small sample of their work. On a personal note, I would like to wish everyone happiness and health during the holiday season.
2003.12.04	Won an honorable mention for my XAS submission, it is listed on my awards page for my TS Eliot wall. The original image is from News World (found on  the Mirror Blue site) and is poor quality. I had to do a lot of work to clean up the image so that it did not look like a scan from a newspaper.
2003.11.25	I guess I am on a Xena/Lucy kick. Just one wall this time.
2003.11.22	Only one wall this time. There are very few walls made with images from the first season. The reason is because the poor quality of the caps from that season. Mikes-images has be able to cap a few execeptional images. I used some of them to make a very simple wall about the episode "Dream Worker"
2003.11.19	Several additions Xena Wall, Xena in Pink, Laura of Arabia, Night Look, FIN. Laura of Arabia is a fantasy book cover. Anyone want to write it? Sorry about the size of the Xena Wall, it is the texture that makes it such a large file. Xena in Pink is only 1 of about 20 variations of this wall. It is also one of my first PS walls. Night Look took a late afternoon shot of Xena and a daylight shot of Gab and tried to make them look both like night shots. It is a failure for that but turned out interesting / scary. Finally FIN image from Mikes-images and the bonus video of the Director's cut of FIN. The images in the letters are: "F" contains the evil gesha (a symbol for the evil yet to be faced); "I" contains the sword (a symbol for the battle); "N" contains the urn (a symbol for the sacrifice of victory)

2003.10.20	The Friday night challenge was Shakespeare. Here are some of my entries (1)smile (2)mad The Shakespeare quotes inspired me to add something from TS Eliot. I hope you like them.
2003.10.19	Entry for XAS, this month's theme is ROC (not Gab). My entry , as usual does not look like any of the others. I always wonder why that is. It is just one of those courious, unanswerable questions. It is still interesting that it ends up being that way.
2003.10.12	I have been on vacation, so no updates for a while. Because I have a real life, I will be another week or so before I get back in the groove. Here is one addition of Varia to hold you over. I had this one for a while in various stages of completion. Also got an honorable mention from XAS, check out my awards page.
2003.09.22	Gab Wall "Then and Now" on Graphics page 3 to learn how to make a blurry image sharper and how to create the old newspaper dot image. The wall is not very good but the images were fun to make.
2003.09.21	A new Lucy wall on Graphics page 1. Again close but missing the mark. I think part of the problem is the balance of the images but I wanted to get something new posted for this week and did not want to start over on the wall.... just lazy this week I guess. Also updated the Actors on TV.
2003.09.12	A new Gab wall on Graphics page 1. Technically not very interesting: sharpen image increased chroma, and blurred backgound. I thought it was a pretty shot of the character. Update to the Actors on TV.
2003.09.04	Won an honorable mention for my XAS submission, it is listed on my awards page. Here is my latest submission to XAS on Graphics page 3.  It was a way to practice a tutorial on how to make hair. I think it turn out ok. Also updated the Actors on TV.

2003.08.21	Added Spanish Xena on Graphics page 2. Gab in lines on Graphics page 1 Going for a graphic pen portrait look. Both creations were going for a specific artistic style, they were close but are missing something to make them eye catching. If I could figure that out... I really would be an artist <g>

2003.08.08	Sorry I am late with the actors on tv update... I won't get that done until Saturday night, or Sunday moring. Have added two walls Argo and Virgil. Argo was "painted from an original image" The technique was kind of like paint by numbers. The Argo image you see is all hand painted. If you want to see the original I was working from, here it is. The Virgil wall is the same image for both the red and blue Virgil. I used a warp brush to change his look from angry to sad. It is amazing what happens to a face by just moving part of it a few pixels. Also here are my submissions for the ABMX-H theme night (advertising is the theme). Mel movie ad, Gabrielle perfume, and XENA radio ads
2003.08.01	I received 1st place for the July XAS (Xena Artist Showcase).  You can see the beautiful award and the winning entry on my awards page. Also created a wall for the Aug contest. Also visible on Graphics page 4 It was an interesting variation on the use of masks. It was not necessary to have the horizontal bands but I think it give a more finished look. To make the two images match there was also some minor color correction / contrast adjustments. For me the text graphics were a disappointment. I was trying to show restrained tension with the gray bottom text. I was also trying to match the image fade theme. With the rest of the text I was trying to show exploding anger with the lower red / black text. Both images and the text content were supplied by XAS. I did the layout and chose the effects. Also submitted a SYS (Show Your Stuff) entry to the ABMX-H group
2003.07.24	Update to Actors on TV  Added 5 creations> of face cards Ace, King, Queen, Jacks, & Joker/cardback.
2003.07.20	New Gab wall on Graphics page 2. Trying for old masters painting look. The Alt version is the closest to what I was attempting. Also some new walls on Graphics page 1,  Xena and Gab. Also a Xena / Gab wall on Graphics Page 3. All three of these walls have the same "style". Plus an award to Tane on my awards page. Check out his site, he has some beautiful walls on display.
2003.07.09	Update to Actors on TV and added a fake wall to Graphics Page 4. This fake was submitted to XAS for the August contest. I've been busy with life, so my wall production is down. Give me a little time, I will resume creating. Besides, I am creating something a little different for my 100th wall.
2003.06.29	Update Actors on TV
2003.06.22	Two walls (Chakram and XaG) on Graphics page 4. Also an update to Actors on TV. Chakram was an experiment with brushes. All the text was created with brushes and different effects on each brush layer. The Chakram was from Xenaversity. Finally XaG was a variation on walls I had created previously. The result was a little odd. Definately not my best work. On Graphics page 3 added Aphrodite wall. The heart was created from a vector the boarders from brushes.
2003.06.17	Once again I am going to post an experiment on Graphics page 3  for a "future" wall. Here, I am working with the vector tools. I was not trying to draw an image, I was trying to see what varible loop sizes would do with the settings I had on the vector/nodes. This was also used to discover how the duplicate vector function worked. Then I wanted to see how the magic wand selection worked with the multiple vectors. (While I had it selected I had to add an outer bevel and drop shadow <g>) The abstract just kind of happened... added a little text and you see the result. Also on Graphics page 3 is something that was created with a contour  layer and then some mixing of the layers.  Update to Actors on TV
2003.06.15	New  Gab wall on Graphics page 3. Just a warning, it is a Hallmark card moment <g>. Added an alternate version of the Gab wall, I think the wording is improved. Graphics page 4, B&W Xena image. I know that most people don't like B&W but there is something about it that fascinates me. I can't tell you what it is though. Maybe my B&W  photography days are trying to come back to me. <g>
2003.06.14	New wall additions> Graphics page 1 a new Xena wall with a slight soften effect. Also used the tape frame boarder effect and a little texture on the boarder. I hope it makes you smile. Also a new Gab wall to practice with the soften / layer effect. Pleased with the outcome on this one but still need to improve my skill on this technique. Graphics page 2 a new Virgil wall. This was my first try at using dirty brushes. I have seen people add real character to their graphics using them.  Because this is new to me, I need more practice with dirty brushes. On Graphics page 3 you will find another Xena wall. I am in a triple images phase I guess. I am enjoying using the masks to create these images. It is very easy too. The last addition is a Callisto wall on Graphics page 4. Once again this is a triple image with some minor twists. the boarder on the top and bottom of the images helped give it a distinctive look. I used a Harry Potter Font.
2003.06.10	New Gab wall.to graphics page 1. Three images from "Locked Up Tied Down". Very simple three layers with masks... lighten two layers and blurred one then added a border. Also added XAS membership banner  to my award page. Update on Actors on TV and addition of vertical Alti wall  on Graphics page 2  that was inspired by Tane.
2003.06.09	I am now part of XAS (Xena Artist Showcase). It is a very special honor because it is by invitation only.  Created a new Alti wall on Graphics page 3  Just a simple blend using a mask. Tweeked colors, brightness, and slightly smoothed
2003.06.07	New wall addition on graphics page 1. Trying for a grapical, comic book effect. Close on this wall but missed the mark. Used Saphire Filters to get a B&W slash line texture as a new layer and  then duplicated the texture layer that I just created. With the same filter and some minor adjustments created a new layer that is a B&W line drawing. This layer was converted to a burn mode to make the lines on the previous layer "pop". Also set the smooth on the original image to give the face a flat coloring "like comic books"
2003.06.03	My ribbon submission to XAS did not meet the requirements. Here is the alternate ribbon graphic that was accepted. (The rules this month are that all the images-including background- had the to originate from one single image) The background was created from a seamless texture that I created from the turbin, then modified with an art plugin. I also added some shadow and highlights to the original creation to improve the image. Also several other additions on several of the graphics pages. On a personal note... a huge thanks to Mikes-images for all his hard work, which made the flurry of these most recent creations possible. 2003.06.01	A second ribbon graphic using a slightly different technique with improved results. Still needs more improvement. Submitted to XAS for July (I hope).  You can also find it on graphics page 1.
2003.05.30	Theme night at ABMX-H here is my submission for Insane Love Affairs. ; Joxer and Narjara are my homage to Escher's ribbon couple art on graphics page 3
2003.05.29	Mikes-images has added me to the ABMX-H group... a wonderful honor. Mike and the news group have been the inspiration for this this site and most of my graphics. I started being active with ABMX-H, March 2003.
2003.05.27	New wall on graphics page 4.... On a roll I guess because I just got PSP8.... love it. Still tweaking with the setups and discovering the features. This wall is an experiment (gone bad) to discover some of the tools functions. I can't decide if I love it or hate it. You decide. <g> Also an update for Actors on TV

2003.03.27	Fixed links on one of the pages. Update to Graphics page. A pair of entrires that I did not submit to XAS because I consider them a Pair. I did have fun creating them from the contest graphics for April. Check them out on Gaphics page 2 (Version A and Version B near the bottom).
2003.03.25	Second phase of the site update, should be seamless to users. Also one more update to Actors on TV to add some more appearences.
2003.03.18	One more update for Actors on TV. Added ROC - Adventures of Huck Finn. Submitted April art entry to XAS  (see). The images were supplied this month. Also submitted to the April Messenger (see) art contest, they just required XaG on the same wall.
2003.03.17	Update to Actors on TV, information if from "Direct Satellite" monthly listings guide, programming is subject to change. Of special note "Fatal Kiss" with Ted Raimi will be airring 3/21 and Riverworld with Kevin Smith will be airring 3/22.

2003.02.06	I just received an award from Xena Art Showcase Contest ! My award winning entry will be displayed through February. It was a total shock because the competition is so stiff. If you want to see the kind of work I was up against, check out the Xena Art Showcase main page. In honor of this award, I will open my award page a little earlier than planned.
